STANLEY X NEST: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Stanley partnered with Nest, a non-profit that champions makers and artisans in 125 countries. Through training, resources and opportunities for creators to share their handcraft work, Nest empowers them to grow their businesses.
We worked with four artists and artist cooperatives, Fabriulous, M.A. Studio, Élan Byrd, and Studio 189 and translated their art on to our bottles. All of the original artwork is hand made - either drawn, weaved, or dyed - which provided a unique challenge in how to interpret these bespoke designs on to hard goods while retaining the characteristics, quality, and integrity of the original piece.
By using print, color, and finish unique to Stanley’s products, we tailored the artwork to fit and wrap around our logos and product silhouettes, and use techniques such as laser etching, gold PVD, water transfer, and rotary print to match the print application best suited to retain the style of the original art. My goal with this project was not to change the artwork, but to elevate it through our finishes and provide a new platform for the work. Many hands touched this initiative, and we wanted to make sure that this was reflected in the final product.
